The paper has been folded to create left-hand margins on both the recto and verso sides. The letters was sealed using the ‘Tuck-and-Seal’ method before sending. The wax seal is extant on f.2v and has caused some damage to the same. There are several small holes along the fold lines, and a further small hole running through the lower left-hand corner of both folios. There is a small, circular brown stain between l.5 and l.6 on f.1r and the lower right-hand corner of the MS has been dog-eared.

Several postmarks have been stamped and drawn over the address panel on f.2v. The MS has been endorsed as ’12’ in the upper left-hand corner of f.1r.
