Additional Comments:
The letter has been folded into four (since unfolded). The paper has also been folded to create left-hand margins on both the recto and verso sides. There are several small holes along the fold lines throughout. There is an additional hole in the upper right-hand corner of f.2r, with remnants of red wax near the hold on f.2v.
D’Argenson has added two notes to the top of f.1r. The first, on the left-hand side, reads ‘à M le mis de Voyer.’ The second, on the right-hand side, reads: ‘envoyé à dom Deschamps, lui dire que je l’aime beaucoup, m’excuser par ce que je n’ay pas le moment de lui écrire moy mesme, lui laisser entrevoir mon retour aux armes pour le 15 février au plus tard’. The number ‘185’ has been added in green ink to the upper left-hand corner of f.1r. The final two lines of f.1r have been underlined.
