The MS is bound with other letters in the collection in calf.
Additional Comments:
The MS was sealed using the ‘Tuck, Fold, and Seal’ method. The wax seal is no longer extant but has caused some damage to f.240v and some staining to f.239v. The paper was also folded to create a left-hand margin on both the recto and verso sides. There is a small hole running through the lower left-hand corner of the MS. There is an ink blot over the seventh word of l.15 of f.239r.
A second hand has added a bibliographical reference to the upper left-hand corner of f.239r. The same hand has added the date and location of sending to the top of f.239r, and have endorsed the MS in the same place as ‘Lettre XLIV’. A postmark has been stamped over the address on f.240v.
