The MS is bound with other letters in the collection in calf.
Additional Comments:
The MS was sealed using the ‘Tuck-and-Seal’ method. The wax seal is partially extant on f.238v and has caused some damage to the same. The paper was also folded to create a left-hand margin on both the recto and verso sides. There are several small ink blots throughout and a larger ink blot at the bottom of f.238v. There is some slight staining to the lower right-hand corner of f.237r, and two pairs of pin holes towards the bottom of the MS.
A second hand has added a bibliographical reference to the upper left-hand corner of f.237r. They have also added the date in the same place and endorsed the MS ‘Lettre XXXIX’. A postmark has been stamped over the address on f.238v.
