Contemporary copy of ‘Lettre du secrétaire de M. de Voltaire’, written in the hand of Bigex.
Detailed Summary:
This copy of the text contains two grammatical oddities that align with those of the printed edition: the plural form ‘aucunes’ and ‘prière […] qu’il a traduit’.
The MS has been folded to create a left-hand margin on both the recto and verso sides. The MS has also been folded in half horizontally and the lower right-hand corner has been dog-eared. There is a small, circular impression in the lower left-hand corner of f.234r that suggests that a wafer seal was either attached at one time to the MS, or that the MS rested against another document that made use of such a seal.
