The paper is partially watermarked with a crest bearing a post horn. Beneath the crest is text reading ‘D&C Blauw’. The watermark is partial due to the paper being cut.

The second folio has been torn away and is missing. The paper has been folded to create a left-hand margin on both the recto and verso sides. Additional fold lines indicate that the letter was sealed using the ‘Tuck-and-Seal’ method before sending.
