An annotation has been added in parenthesis at the top of the page. It reads: ‘Corresp. litt. de Grimm, vol.3, p.43, éd. de 1829’. The note is followed by the title which features a correction in the form of a crossing out: ‘Lettre… / à M. [deletion: Damilaville] Damilaville / 12 janvier.’ The year 1761 has been added in brackets on l.5 in the upper right-hand corner of the MS. Clogenson had added several notes throughout the MS. The first pertains to the word ‘Lettre’ in the title and reads: ‘Cette lettre, extraite de la correspondance de Grimm, 15 April 1761, fut insérée, sous le titre d’Avis dans le Journal encyclopédique du 1er février de la même année, p.145 (Clog.)’. All five of the footnotes included in the MS are signed ‘Clog.’
