The paper is watermarked with a shield bearing a post horn topped with a crown. Beneath the shield is a cow bell and indistinguishable text.

The letter was sealed using the ‘Tuck, Fold, and Seal’ method. There are remnants of the wafer seal on f.2v and this has caused some damage to the same. The MS was also folded to create a left-hand margin on both the recto and verso sides. There is some minor discolouration of the corners of f.1r and the top edge of f.2r.
