The MS has been folded into four (since unfolded). There is a small blob of wax above l.20 on f.88r that has caused some minor staining to the facing page
The MS has been endorsed as ‘No.39’ in the upper left-hand corner of f.87r. Select words and phrases have been underlined throughout. Voltaire has added a note in Latin to the bottom of f.87r reading: ‘graiis dedit ore rotundo musa loqui’.
