The paper is watermarked with a shield bearing a post horn. Beneath the shield are the names ‘D&C Blauw’.

Additional Comments:
The letter was sealed using the ‘Tuck-and-Seal’ method. The wax seal is extant on f.2v and has caused some damage to the same. The paper has also been folded to create a left-hand margin on both the recto and verso sides. Ink from the facing page has transferred onto f.2r.
