A second hand has endorsed the MS as ‘No.18’ in the upper left-hand corner of p.53. The same hand has also added a bibliographical reference to the bottom of p.53. A third hand has added footnotes to the bottom of the letter on p.53, identifying matters mentioned in the letter. These notes are linked to the main text through the use of corresponding symbols. The NB appended to the end of the letter on p.53 has been crossed out, and a large arrow has been drawn through the final paragraph of the letter on the same. The sixth word of l.2 and the second word of l.6 on p.53 have been underlined. A cross has been added to the left of the first paragraph on p.53.
