The MS was folded in half horizontally (since unfolded). Some of the ink from f.1v has transferred onto f.2r, and there is an ink smudge over l.8 of f.1r.

The names of encyclopoedia entries, such as ‘Figuré’, ‘Force’, and ‘Faveur’ have been underlined throughout. There is a minor correction to l.7 of f.1v in the form of a crossing out with the addition of corrected text superscript. Voltaire has added the concluding lines in his own hand. These read: ‘ce malade vous aime de tout son cœur et me Denis aussi V’.
