Additional Comments:

The letter was sealed before sending. The MS features one horizontal and four vertical fold lines. The seal, extant on f.2v, is atypical for Voltaire, featuring a head rather than the usual shield. It has caused some minor damage to the lower left-hand corner of f.2v. The letter has been folded to create a left-hand margin on both the recto and verso sides. There is a small stain over l.14 on f.1r.

Decorations:

Undecorated

Additions:

There is a minor correction to l.15 on f.1r in the form of a crossing out. Part of l.9-10 on f.2r has been underlined. A Genevan postmark has been stamped over the address on f.2v.
