The MS is bound with other letters in the collection in calf.

The MS was folded into four (since unfolded). There are several small holes and tears along these fold lines. There are two pairs of pin holes just beneath the centre of the MS and an ink blot over the start of the final line of f.261r.

Three hands have added notes to the upper left-hand corner of the MS, providing a bibliographical reference, details of the letter’s author and recipient, and details of printings. A word added superscript above l.5 on f.261r has been crossed out. A footnote providing the title of an epitre mentioned in the letter has been added on f.261r and is linked to the body of the text through the use of a shared symbol. There is a minot correction to the penultimate word of l.4 on f.261v in the form of corrected text being written over the top of incorrect text.
