The MS is bound with other letters in the collection in calf.
Additional Comments:
The MS was sealed using the ‘Tuck, Fold, and Seal’ method. The seal is no longer extant but has caused some damage to f.206. The paper was also folded to create a left-hand margin on both the recto and verso sides. There is some minor staining to f.206v, and the ink of the postage stamp has smudged on the same. There is also an ink splatter over the address on f.206v.
A second hand has added a bibliographical reference to the upper left-hand corner of f.205r. The same hand has also added marginal notes throughout expanding on, or identifying, matters mentioned in the text. These notes are linked to the main text through the use of corresponding symbols. Select words and phrases have been underlined on l.8 of f.205r. A Paris postmark has been stamped over the address on f.206v.
