Detailed Summary:
Du Châtelet writes that she believes that they will be happy with Cirey as de Graffigny’s Newton awaits them, as well as two people who truly love them. She adds that they will be unhappy with Voltaire’s health and help her to persuade him to take care of himself and work less.
The paper is countermarked with the initials ‘VI’.

The MS features a series of fold lines, suggesting that the letter was letterlocked before sending. There is a red wax seal on f.2v that has caused some damage to the paper along the main fold line when the letter was opened. There are small tears along the main fold line and a small in the bottom left-hand corner of both leaves. The edges of the pages are gilded in gold.
