The MS was folded to create a left-hand margin on both the recto and verso sides. The letter was sealed using the ‘Tuck-and-Seal’ method before sending. The wafer seal is partially extant on f.2v and has caused some damage to the same. There are a series of ink blots to the left of the address panel on f.2v.
