The MS is almost identical to a second copy of the work found in the same volume (CMV36657). Variants appear to have been taken from a later version of the work, likely the 1740 Paris edition, and have been added above the line and in the margins.

Variants and additional information, such as the identification of ‘Emilie’ as Emilie du Châtelet have been added above the line and in the margins. Marginal notes are linked to the main text through the use of shared symbols. There is a correction to the second word of l.17 on p.425 in the form of a crossing out with corrected text added superscript, and the same on l.23 of p.427 and l.14-18 of p.429. There is a further correction to l.16 of p.430 in the form of corrected text being written over the top of incorrect text. The final two lines of p.426, and the first five lines of p.427 have been placed within a bracket.
