Brief Summary:

Collection of 41 labels used to organised Voltaire’s papers.

Detailed Summary:

The labels range in size, and those not in Voltaire’s hand are written in three different secretarial hands. In her critical edition, G. Pink tentatively ascribes the label numbered 357 to secretary Samuel Villaume. Since then, she has deemed it more likely to be in the hand of Francheville, although it is not impossible that it could be Wagnière.
