Additional Comments:
The MS has been folded into four (since unfolded). Some of the ink from the bottom of f.1r has transferred onto the top of f.1r during this folding process, suggesting that the horizontal fold was made first, and then the vertical one. This ink transfer concerns the word ‘calommieux’ on l.14 and ‘peine’ on l.15. Ink from f.1v has also transferred onto to the of f.2r. Ink from another document has transferred over l.13 of f.1r. The paper has been folded to create a left-hand margin on both the recto and verso sides of the page, and there is a small blob of wax towards the centre of f.1v. The iron gall ink used to write the letter has caused some minor corrosion.
