Originally part of the collections of the Imperial Library of St Petersburg [National Library of Russia]. The MSS were presumably part of the larger collection transported to Russia by Wagnière after Voltaire’s death. The MSS were later sent from M. de Gouroff to Beuchot, and were subsequently owned by Cayrol.
