Additional Comments:
The MS was sealed using the ‘Tuck, Fold, and Seal’ method. The wax seal is partially extant on f.2v and has caused some damage to the same. There is a hole running through the lower left-hand corner of both folios, and several smaller holes and tears along the fold lines. A small section of tape has been affixed to the upper right-hand corner of f.1r. There is some foxing throughout, and an ink blot in the lower left-hand corner of f.2v.
A second hand has added the date, ’31 janvier 1755′ to the right of the address on f.2v. The name ‘Apollon’ has been underlined on l.16 of f.1r, and the quotation on l.13-14 of f.1v has likewise been underlined.
Passed at the ‘bibliophile voyageur’ [Leblanc] sale in Paris on 14 December 1843 (Lot. 1411), the comte *** [Hunolstein] sale hosted by Charavay in Paris on 3 February 1858 (Lot. 97), and the Dubrunfaut sale in Paris on 22 December 1884 (Lot. 158).
