Markam Sherwill and William Upcott have added signed attestations to the MS. There is a marginal note on the provenance of the MS, and a second signed note from S. de Ricci who remarks: ‘I do not see here a line which is unquestionably in Voltaire’s autograph’. There are a number of corrections throughout, possibly in Voltaire’s hand.
