Voltaire has added a note in his own hand reading ‘[deletion: lettre] extrait d’une lettre a made de Pompadour alors me detiole en 1745’. A second, unknown hand has added four notes to the MS. The first is the letter ‘E’. The second is the date ‘1747’. The third reads ‘La paix de Breslau, est 25 Xbre 1746’. The fourth reads ‘lettres et petits ver pr made de pompadour’. There are numerous corrections throughout in the form of crossings out and the addition of corrected and/or omitted text superscript.
