Detailed Summary:
Voltaire reports that the mounted guards left on the day of his writing the letter and advises d’Argenson to try and maintain his health as he must be very overworked.
The paper is watermarked with a shield bearing a post horn, and the initials ‘GR’.

The lower and right-hand edges of f.1r is slightly discoloured. The paper features additional horizontal and vertical fold lines. There is a small tear to the bottom of the main fold line and a small hole at the top of f.2. There are ink blots in the upper right-hand corner of f.1r, the lower right-hand side of f.2r, and the lower half of f.2v. Also on f.2v is a very small remnant of red wax.
