Brief Summary:

Letter from Antoine Honneste d’Adhémar de Monteil de Brunier, marquis d’Adhémar to an unidentified recipient, dated 1773.

Detailed Summary:

D’Adhémar notes that the Duchess of Württemberg stopped in Lausanne and was warmly invited to Ferney by Voltaire. He discusses Voltaire’s vitality in the face of illness and a gruelling 12-15 hour work routine. He then turns to Voltaire’s works about ‘Vinde’, the first part of which has been published, and a new story he has written called ‘Le Taureau blanc’ which he gave a copy of to the Duchess, who then traveled on to Lyon.
