The paper is watermarked with a shield bearing a post horn, topped with a crown. Beneath the shield is the name: ‘Vander Ley’.

The MS was sealed using the ‘Tuck, Fold, and Seal’ method. The wax seal is no longer extant, appearing to have been cut out by a previous owner, but has caused some damage to f.2. There is further tearing along the outer edge of the horizontal fold line on both folios. There is an ink blot in the upper left-hand corner of f.2r.
