The MS is bound with other letters in the collection in calf.
Additional Comments:
The MS was sealed using the ‘Tuck, Fold, and Seal’ method. The wax seal is partially extant on f.238v and has caused some damage to the same. The paper was also folded to create a left-hand margin on both the recto and verso sides. There are several small ink blots throughout and a larger ink blot at the bottom of f.238v. There is some slight staining to the lower right-hand corner of f.237r, and two pairs of pin holes towards the bottom of the MS.
A second hand has added a bibliographical reference to the upper left-hand corner of f.237r. They have also added the date in the same place and endorsed the MS ‘Lettre XXXIX’. A postmark has been stamped over the address on f.238v.
