The MS is bound with other letters in the collection in calf.

Additional Comments:

The MS was sealed using the ‘Tuck, Fold, and Seal’ method. There are remnants of the wax seal on f.198v, and the seal has caused some damage to the same. The lower portion of f.198 is torn away. The paper was also folded to create a left-hand margin on both the recto and verso sides. The wax seal from the previous letter in the collection has caused some staining to f.197r, and there are two pin holes towards the centre of the MS.

Decorations:

Undecorated

Additions:

A second hand has added a bibliographical reference to the upper left-hand corner of f.197r. The same hand has added marginal notes identifying matters mentioned in the letter.
