Detailed Summary:

Voltaire, addressing Charles-Augustin de Ferriol d’Argental as the protector of his soul, writes that he has not done annything stupid because he has done nothing at all. He adds that he has not seen either a man nor a priest but that he will see the laveliest of men and hopes to pay court to them first. In a postscript, he asks how the ‘other angel’, d’Argental’s wide, is.
