There are numerous strikethroughs and corrections throughout. Occasional notes have been added on the facing versos. Two notes have been added to the end of the MS reading ‘End of first volume’ and in pencil on f.213v ‘To be lettered on the back: Letters of Voltaire & D’Alembert’. The bookplate of Robert Rising has also been added to the MS.
