Voltaire writes that Marie-Louis Denis [née Mignot] [née Mignot] consummated the Délices business with the recipient’s brother. He notes that a violent sore throat prevented him from being part of the meeting, but that he was not necessary. He adds that he asked his niece to do whatever the recipient’s brother wanted her to. He jokes that the recipient is now the owner of Les Délices, but remarks that he will never leave Paris to come to Geneva. Voltaire writes that he is always interested in the tranquility of the recipients’ homeland (France) and adds that he hopes Jean Jacques Rousseau will not disturb the peace.
