Thomas Robinson describes his daily routine. He discusses his having attended Pardo and a dinner at Morino’s. He then remarks upon Torrejon’s sale, noting that he found Waddilove there and made him buy a pretty cup and cover with saucer. He notes that he also looked in on Spinelli’s sale. Robinson goes on to say that El Gobierno have prohibited the exhibition of Voltaire and Rousseau’s figures at the wax works.
Voltaire writes that he will leave on Friday for the business that d’Argenson knows of. He notes that it is a secretive matter and that if d’Argenson wishes him to come to Versailles so that he can give Voltaire some orders, Voltaire would be honoured to do so secretly at the time d’Argenson prescribes. He asks that the auction be postponed until the end of the following week because his cousin Marchand is expecting the arrival of two large merchants who will serve d’Argenson well.
