The MS has been folded in half horizontally (since unfolded). Left-hand margins have been drawn in in pencil. There is a small tab of paper affixed to the upper right-hand corner of f.210r, part of which has been torn away. A number ‘2’ appears to be written on the tab. The ink at the end of l.15 of f.210v has smudged and there is an ink blot over l.12 of f.217r. There is a small blob of wax between l.16 and l.17 on f.212r.

Footnotes have been added to the bottom of f.210r and f.211r. They are linked to the main text through the use of a corresponding symbol. Select words and phrases have been underlined throughout. Voltaire has added a marginal note to the lower left-hand corner of f.216r. There is a minor correction to the final line of f.216v in the form of corrected text being written over the top of incorrect text.
