The MS has been folded into four (since unfolded). There is a tear to the lower left-hand corner of f.69r and several ink blots throughout.

The MS has been endorsed as ‘No.31’ in the upper left-hand corner of f.69r. A second hand has added a note to the upper right-hand corner of f.69r stating that the letter was replied to on 26 January 1761. Pen trials in a much paler ink have been added to the bottom of f.69r. Parts of l.6-8 of f.69v have been underlined.
