Brief Summary:

Autograph draft of a letter from Voltaire to Frederick II of Prussia, written from Brussels and dated 1 September 1738 [c.25 July 1739].

Detailed Summary:

Although Voltaire dated the letter 1 September 1738, Besterman believed this was erroneous and instead dates the letter to c.25 July 1739. He argues that the letter was written around the time of the composition of D2056, and that D2063 is a reply to the letter.
