The paper is watermarked, but part of the watermark was lost when the paper was cut.

There is a small amount of damage to the MS in the middle of the fold line caused by the wax seal. A small hole runs through the top middle section of each of the two leaves. There is a series of fold lines indicating the manner in which the letter was folded for the recipient and there are areas of damage around the remnants of red wax, perhaps caused by the opening of the letter. Small pieces of tape have been added to the outer edges of the MS.
