Autograph letter signed from John Minifie to Norton Nicholls, written from Trezzo and dated 29 July 1773, quoting a letter by Voltaire who writes supposedly “on his death bed”.
Detailed Summary:
Minifie claims that Voltaire is original, even in what he assumes are his last moments, quoting a letter from Voltaire. In the letter, Voltaire, says that he is dying, but he gladly devote one of his final moments to Count Tislaler[?] and Mr Preston. He adds that were he able, he would come to pay them a visit in Geneva, but he can scarcely walk, speak or even move. He concludes that his skeleton will receive them respectfully for a brief moment that day, though he is very sorry that he cannot spend whole days with them.
